ABSTRACT
El avance de las técnicas de Odontología Estética Adhesiva y la consiguiente aparición de nuevos materiales han hecho que no haya una preocupación por las verdaderas indicaciones y contraindicaciones de las resinas compuestas, a favor de la estética, olvidando la función de la longevidad clínica de la restauración, empleando de manera arbitraria, sin verificar el tipo de restauración y la higiene bucal del paciente, en lugar de optar por la restauración de amalgama que es un material de bajo costo y de alta longevidad y de gran beneficio para la población carente que utiliza el servicio público. Este artículo tiene por objeto examinar la bibliografía relativa a la sustitución o no de las restauraciones de amalgama por resina compuesta, ya que la decisión de sustituirlas todavía es polémica
The progress of the techniques of the Adhesive Aesthetic Dentistry and the consequent appearance of new materials have been doing with that there is not concerní with the real indications and against indications of the componed resins, in favor of the aesthetics, forgetting about the function of clinical longevity of the restoration, using it in an arbitrary way, without verifying the type of the restoration and the patient's bucal higiene, stopping choosing for the amalgam restoration that is a material of low cost and high longevity ando f great Benedit for the lacking population that it uses the public service. This article aims at to analyze the bibliography regarding the substitution or not of the restorations the amalgam for composed resin, because the decision in substituting is still susceptible to controversial
